A Note from my Mom

To all Kate's friends and family,
I want to praise God for allowing us to enjoy 2 years since Kate’s hospitalization for Guillain Barre Syndrome. Since her recovery, there has been absolutely no sign of recurrence! Kate continues to be active and energetic. Honestly, she never stops moving and for that, we praise the Lord! Now she is not going to win any awards in athletics, due to lack of rhythm and coordination, but that is probably due to genetics... I am still confident that her complete and quick recovery was due to the faithful prayers of many on her behalf.

As most of you know Kate will be adding another member to her blog, hopefully next month! Kate is so excited to have a little sister to play with. We know that Karis will have her own medical challenges and the extent of them is yet to be seen.  She has been diagnosed with hip dysplasia, but we don't know if she has been successfully treated.  I do know that Kate’s contagious enthusiasm will be an encouragement to Karis in the coming months, which may hold surgery and therapy. In the time of unknowns, we will continue to trust God’s sovereignty and humbly ask for to you pray for our second daughter.

1. Karis’ medical needs would be minor or non-existent, but if surgery is needed, she would have a quick recovery
2. For peaceful transition for Karis into our family (new home, new family, new language, new foods, time zone, basically everything familiar)
3. Kate and Jacob (and me!) would handle the separation of our family for 2 weeks, and life would run smoothly while we are gone

Thank you for your faithful love and support of us!
