Trusting the Lord

Hi folks, Kate's dad here. As I'm sure many of you have heard, Kate's very sick right now. We're currently in the hospital in Baton Rouge. We believe that Kate has something called Gullain-barre Syndrome (GBS). This illness attacks your nerves in your lower back causing paralysis in the lower part of your body. It then typically begins to work its way up your body with the most dangerous threat being this getting to your respiratory system. We think this will not happen since we caught it early. She is currently having a treatment called IVIG which basically boosts your immune system to fight this off. The doctors are not 100% that this is the illness she has, but we've ruled out most everything else. It is by far the most likely cause.

She is now able to crawl around some and seems to be improving from the first of the week. I have sent out some email updates along the journey, you can read them here.

We appreciate all your prayers and are anxious to see how the Lord uses this in our lives and in the lives of many others who are in some way connected to the situation.

I'll start posting some regular updates to this site until Kate feels back up to blogging!
